This is a Public Notice by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers requesting comments on POCGI use of water and wetlands. Important: All comments pertaining to this Public Notice must reach there office on or before March 29, 2012, which is the close of the comment period.

According to the letter, “All factors which may be relevant to the proposal will be considered, including its cumulative effects. Among the factors addressed are conservation, economics, aesthetics, general environmental concerns, wetlands, historic properties, fish and wildlife values, flood hazards, floodplain values, land use, navigation, shore erosion and accretion, recreation, water supply and conservation, water quality, energyneeds, safety, food and fiber production, mineral needs, considerations of property ownership, and, ingeneral, the needs and welfare of the people.”
The US Army Corp of Engineers Regulatory Program is committed to protecting the Nation’s aquatic resources, while allowing reasonable development through fair, flexible and balanced permit decisions. The Corps evaluates permit applications for essentially all construction activities that occur in the Nation’s waters, including wetlands.
